I am currently spending my summer in Charlottesville, Virginia. I leave for Spain in less than a month. While most of my friends are working or taking summer class, I am just relaxing and hanging out in Charlottesville.
Summer is off to a great start. I took a motorcycle road trip and visited Cassandra in South Hill on Lake Gaston then I went to visit Ben in Wilmington for a few days. I had a great time. Then there was graduation weekend which was also a lot of fun. Seven of the guys I live with were back in town and Matt had 7 of his family members from trinidad staying with us. It was truly a memorable weekend.
I did have to go home May 22 to put my 15 year old black lab to sleep. It was sad, but she had lived a good long life. She had cancer and was in a lot of pain. Now she is in a better place.
This past weekend I went to Calie and Daniel's wedding with Joanna, Liz, Veronica, Caleb, and Jordan. We had a great time. The wedding was really nice and the reception was a lot of fun. We even went to the beach and Caleb went swimming. We stayed at Joanna's house. Saturday we went to Sarah Cowherd's house and chilled by her pool and then went to the beach to relax and ran into a lot of friends from UVA. It was a lot of fun. A bunch of us went out to dinner that night then played a great game of spoons with various punishments for the loser. I had a great time meeting Sarah's friends. Monday Caleb, Veronica and I drove back in the traffic. We made it back and had a cookout at Liz's house called Ohana. It was a great opportunity to meet other christians who are in town for the summer.
I spent a lot of time with Liz and Caleb this weekend. If that is any indication as to what Spain is going to be like with them traveling around for 2 weeks after we finish class- we are going to have a lot of fun together.
